Bonjour à tous!
My mother, in her eternal wisdom, suggested that I teach a new French word in each of my posts. As I thought about her idea, it did not take me long to think of the word with which I would start. When I started learning French in junior high, myself and my classmates were consistently aggravated that the verb travailler (trah-vay-ay) does not, in fact, mean to travel. No, it actually means to work, while voyager (voy-ah-jhay) means to travel.
Okay, so you might not all be as interested in this sort of French lesson as my mother and myself, but what can I say, I like talking to people about my majors :)
Tomorrow I leave on mon voyage. I will not be seeing my wonderful state until late May, instead I will be exploring Rennes, Paris, and other parts of France and Europe. My bags are packed, I have ample snacks for my day of travel, and I've said most of my goodbyes.
I won't lie and say that I'm not nervous, but I can say that I will not let my nerves stop me from the adventures that await.
I promise future posts will have more pictures and less sappiness, but I felt that this was an appropriate post for my last night at home.
Happy New Year everyone, I'll continue this one-sided ramble in a few days!
À bientôt!
